Scarborough State School opened in 1925 with an enrolment of 30 students. Since then our school has grown to be one of the largest schools in the area, with a proud history of academic, arts and sporting achievements
At Scarborough State School our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment in which all children can develop a love of learning and positive self-esteem, thus equipping them with the confidence needed to take risks in their learning. We implement a process known as school wide positive behaviour based on:
Be an active learner.
Be respectful.
Be responsible.
Be safe.
Through the application of these expectations and the use of positive behaviour management strategies, we encourage students to make thoughtful choices and assist them in learning to do this independently.
At Scarborough State School our drama, music, sports and leadership programs are designed to educate the 'whole' person so that our students are offered a rounded and comprehensive education, equipping them for junior secondary.
